National Cadet Core (NCC)
The NCC is a Tri-Services Organization engaged in grooming the youth; the leaders of tomorrow into disciplined and Patriotic citizens. It aims at developing character, comradeship, Secular outlook, spirit of adventure, ideals of selfless service amongst the youth and motivates them to take up a career in armed forces.
NCC came into existence in the college in 1978 under the able leadership of Late Captain Kalyani Das Gupta, where girl cadets were given the opportunities and training to come out with flying colours in their respective careers and in all walks of life. After the sudden demise of Capt. K Das Gupta the charge was headed over to Major Dr. Manmeet Kaur Sodhi, DG Commendation Awardee (National Level Award),who was the former and an able Cadet of Late. Capt. K. Gupta . Since 01 March 1992, under the able Leadership , hard work and incomparable commitment of Major Sodhi, the NCC of the college has given opportunities to hundreds of girl cadets to tap their potential and shine like anything. Cadets of the institution have reached new echelons and have left no stone unturned. Cadets have proved their worth at Zonal , State ,National and International Level and through their hard earned achievements; have made the college and country feel proud. Many Cadets of the college have joined Armed Forces as an Officer. They have left no stone unturned and have also made the country feel proud by being a part of the prestigious Youth Exchange Program by representing India at International Level.
The NCC wing of the institution empowers the cadets and trains them for the wellness of the society, where in cadets are engaged in activities like Gender sensitization, Cleanliness, Digital Payment, Body, organ & blood donation, Immunization, Tree plantation, Environment & disaster management, Aids, Cancer, Hepatitis awareness, Traffic control, Child rights, Anti Cracker drive, Anti Tobacco drive and many such other activities as community development.
NCC in Navyug has always worked towards creating Leaders and good citizens of the country. A Dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work; and this is what NCC emphasises on. Inspiration in every step of life, Motivation in every turning of life, Solution in every hurdle of life, Courage to every gathering of life, Confidence in every performance of life, Smartness in every instability of life, Ability to accept every challenge of life and Discipline in every moment of life is what a cadet of Navyug is taught.
